Meet TLC's new leaders
11 November 2022
The Lines Company (TLC), the electricity distribution business servicing the wider King Country region, announced the appointment of General Managers following the confirmation of new Chief Executive, Mike Fox, in September this year.
Fox says, “Our leaders each bring a deep and rich set of skills and experience, which will assist our customers with the continued need to adapt and transform, whilst also bringing fresh views and specialised knowledge to our senior leadership team.”
“These promotions from inside the business reflect the depth of talent and skill we have inside the organisation, along with the strong growth and capability development focus we continue to undertake to strengthen our leadership capabilities.”
Te Kūiti local, Jared Murrell, has been confirmed as General Manager, Service Delivery where he is responsible for the Network Services, Programme Delivery and Key Accounts functions.
Jared has been with TLC for 22 years and over that time has held a range of roles including field work, project management and leadership, all of which give him a unique insight and skillset into how TLC operates. Over that time, he has led significant improvement to TLC’s safety culture, customer relationships and efficiency of the business, and was a finalist in New Zealand’s Young Energy Professional of the Year award in 2020.
Romay Rundgren has been appointed General Manager, Finance.
Over her four years as TLC’s Finance Manager, she has been instrumental in the acquisitions of additional metering fleets for TLC’s subsidiary, metering and data company, Influx – and the implementation of new finance systems.
Romay’s performance, coupled with her extensive experience within the finance, regulatory, technology and contractual areas made her an ideal candidate for the role covering Finance, Regulatory, and Technology remits.
Rundgren and Murrell join other leaders at TLC in Mike Fox (CE), Mike Ullrich (CE, Influx), Simon Batters (GM, People & Safety), and Craig Hackett (Acting Manager, Network) to make up the senior leadership team.
TLC have a proud history of offering employment opportunities for local people, with over 65% of its 160-strong workforce living within the network region. Through scholarship, trainee and internal development programmes, TLC offer a wide range of career pathways to those looking to develop a career in the electricity sector and make a difference in the community.
