Get commercial or industrial connections

Large-scale builds or developments can require high loads, multiple or non-standard connections.

We’re excited you’re developing on our network and look forward to welcoming you on board

If you’re developing a subdivision, commercial or industrial building, you’ll need to work with us to apply to get connected.

For a non-standard connection the process will take 20 working days to process your application and a further 16 weeks (possibly longer depending on complexity) to complete the process.

Steps to connect

There are several steps to complete an application and get connected, you can check them out below and click on the link to complete your application form.

Note: We’re experiencing a high volume of applications, with longer lead times than normal.

CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION

Where you request a connection to our Network, and we approve this connection, investment may be required in assets to supply electricity to you.

This may be in the form of assets dedicated to you, or assets that supply multiple customers (new or existing shared assets), but which require further investment to facilitate supply to you.

Costs of new, or of upgrades to existing, connections may be shared where there are network benefits to the upgrade.

Your retailer bills our lines charges

Our lines function services will be billed by your retailer, who acts as our agent.

These charges are included in the electricity bill you receive from your retailer.

By connecting to, or owning an installation on, our network you agree to our STANDARD TERMS.

3 Approval & Capital Contribution

If approved, you will be sent your approval and Network Point of Connection to pass on to your electrician, you will also receive a Capital Contribution invoice which will need to be paid before your application proceeds. If more work is required to get the requested load to your boundary, this will be sent to our Project Managers to quote for you, once accepted and paid, works are completed.

4 Connection created

We’ll then create your individual connection (ICP) and email your contractor and retailer letting them know so they can action things at their end.

5 Compliance

An electrician to confirm site is ready for us to attend and provide a Certificate of Compliance (COC) and Record of Inspection (ROI). You can book your ROI in with a TLC Electrician – just let us know!

6 Installation

A TLC technician will attend to hang the meter and liven your installation.
