Green light for Time-of-Use (TOU) Pricing for TLC Customers

A change to time-of-use (TOU) pricing for customers of The Lines Company (TLC) has been given the green light by the TLC Board at its October meeting. The decision follows a comprehensive review of TLC’s current service-based pricing, several independent reports and extensive consultation with the community since late 2016, including a first round of in-market testing.

The Lines Company (TLC) update on power restoration following weekend of stormy weather

The Lines Company (TLC) today confirmed restoration of power supply to around 3500 customers affected at various times over the weekend due to a combination of stormy weather, snow and a Transpower supply outage, over the two day period.

On 6th September 2016, the TLC Board commenced an independent review of the service-based pricing approach that is currently in place. After 10 years of the current methodology being applied, it was felt that
a full substantive review was warranted to provide a positive plan going forward for future pricing decisions.

Network company invests in improving electricity information technology

The King Country electricity network service supplier, The Lines Company (TLC) has
acquired a 36% shareholding in Embrium Holdings Limited (Embrium), a Wellington-based energy technology business that develops and operates state of the art energy information solutions. The investment has been made via TLC’s subsidiary FCL, which is a specialist smart meter business.
