Future Director

As an Institute of Directors host board, we’re looking to appoint a Future Director who has a strong interest in governance and the local community.

Community-owned electricity distribution company The Lines Company (TLC) own, manage and maintain the network that connects approximately 18,500 customers across the King Country.

Designed to help develop the next generation of directors, TLC recently joined the Institute of Directors Future Directors programme helping to ensure that New Zealand boards are diverse, hardworking and focused on their shareholders, customers, staff, suppliers and community.

As part of the programme, TLC will appoint a Future Director who has a strong interest in governance and the local community.  A voluntary role, the successful candidate will receive high-calibre mentoring and significant boardroom experience – along with a financial contribution to governance courses in order to assist with their career development.

Our Future Director will get first-hand experience of what it is like to operate at local company board level, with the ability to bring a fresh perspective to the table, provide ‘local’ contribution and add value, whilst being able to observe board dynamics.
