Landlords & Tenants

If you’re a landlord who owns one or more rental properties in our region, you can assign responsibility for payment of your TLC bill to your tenant. This should be clearly communicated to them and agreed upon at the beginning of their tenancy.

However, if your tenant’s account is in arrears for two months in a row, we will notify you within five working days and you, as the landlord, will become responsible for all future charges.

We also offer a landlord rebate for times when your property is sitting empty. We will look at meter readings, the energy retailer, the electricity registry, consumption and any other relevant information in support of your rebate application.

To register as a landlord with us, or to apply for a rebate, please fill out the forms below or alternatively email service@thelines.co.nz for a copy:

  • Residential Landlord Registration form
  • Residential Landlord Rebate form.

Tenants who receive an invoice directly from TLC can access the same advice and support we offer all our customers to help manage their bill.
