Increasing & Decreasing Load

'Load' refers to the maximum amount of electricity we can supply to your property.  Your lines charges are based on the maximum load we have registered for your Installation Control Point (ICP).

If your circumstances have changed you can request an increase or decrease to your load.

For example:

  • You have bought new appliances that will use a lot more electricity (such as a heat pump).
  • You have built an additional room(s) that requires extra electricity
  • You have gone from an electric hot water cylinder to gas (decrease)

If you would like TLC to reassess your current load, please fill out the appropriate form:

  • Increasing Load
  • Decreasing Load

Depending on your circumstances, a TLC inspector may need to visit your property.  There is a cost associated with this.  We will advise you if a site visit is necessary. Please allow 20 working days for your application to be processed and a site visit to be organised.
