This process is for safety purposes to ensure your installation is electrically sound and compliant. It’s also important that we know you are using solar energy – if TLC has to shut power off for emergency repairs or maintenance, your lines could still be ‘live’ via your solar installation, which poses a huge risk to the safety of our linesmen.
If you have an existing solar system that we might not be aware of, please phone us on 0800 367 546 so we can update our records and put the appropriate safeguards in place.
If you wish to export surplus energy from your solar installation to the national grid, you need to speak to your electricity retailer to organise this.
