“The app has been through some rigorous testing over the last few months to ensure that it can
deliver the best information available at this time. Once a customer registers their ICP number into
the app the user has the ability to receive notifications about load control in their GXP region and
any faults or planned outages that are effecting their property. In time we hope to develop the app
further and offer even more specific information,” says Brent Norriss CEO.
“It has been one of our top customer priorities to be able to offer the best information about what is
going on the network that may impact on the customer. To develop this type of product takes time
and the focus has been on delivering a customer friendly product. Thanks to the work of the team
involved to get this across the line.”
The part of the app that alerts customers to load control in their GXP region can only be properly
tested once there are periods of load control. The app has now been tested comprehensively over
the last few months when there have been more periods of load control which has led to a more
robust product.
The Network performance app can be used to alert a customer to faults and planned outages that
could be effecting the power supply to the ICP(s) that are registered in the app. Information will
include estimated restoration time. This should help the customer stay informed and decrease the
time that they need to spend on the phone to find out fault information, leaving the phone lines free
for fault reporting and a better service overall. The quicker faults are reported the sooner we can
get the power on which is a high priority for the comfort and safety of all our customers.
“Going forward we will be investigating ways of building on this service to improve the information
available to our customers and the overall customer experience.”
The Network Performance App is available for free from the Google play store, the Apple App store
and also from our website by following the links on our home page www.thelinescompany.co.nz
