Your Bill

Households and businesses in the King Country receive two bills each month relating to their electricity – one from The Lines Company for the cost of connecting your property to the national grid and maintaining your network lines, and one from your chosen energy retailer for the cost of the electricity you have used.

This is a unique situation in New Zealand and TLC is proud to have a direct relationship with its customers rather than sitting anonymously in the background behind energy retailers.

While your two bills may arrive at different times, it’s important to remember you are NOT paying for the same thing twice. TLC is your distributor (getting the supply to wherever it’s needed) while your retailer is charging you for the actual electricity that runs down TLC’s network lines.

The two invoices you receive reflect the actual costs involved in providing these different services to you.
