Policies

The Lines Company has a number of different customer relief policies to help if your circumstances have changed. Eligibility is subject to managerial approval and our standard Terms of Service.

Customer Policies

Compassionate Relief

We may be able to help you if:

  • A significant health issue has resulted in higher use of power in your home
  • A property owner has gone into long-term hospital or rest home care
  • A bereavement has affected your ability to pay this month’s bill

Please call us on 0800 367 546 to discuss your individual circumstances and see if we can assist.

Landlord Relief

Residential or commercial landlords can register and apply for rebates for vacant rental properties. For more details and an application form, please click here.

New to Property/Holiday Home/Commercial

If you move to a property and think the load portion of your TLC bill is too high for your intended use, please call us and we’ll see if you’re eligible for a kW load reassessment or load agreement.

We can look into the history of the property's load and take into consideration your previous load to see if we can lower this component of your bill.

Permanent Change to Property

Call us if you have made, or are thinking about making, permanent changes to your property that will reduce the kW load (eg installing insulation, moving to gas appliances, or installing a wood burner). You may be eligible for a kW load reassessment or load agreement which will lower this portion of your bill.

Uninhabitable or Unliveable Homes

If your property is not up to a liveable standard, has significant contamination, or is uninhabitable because it doesn’t have essential services such as water or sewerage, we may be able to lower your kW load. Please talk to us. Evidence of the damage will be required.
